‘He will shake up Big Food, Big Pharma and Big Medicine with tangible policies that put patients and consumers first,’ says Katy Talento

WASHINGTONThe Alliance of Health Care Sharing Ministries (The Alliance, ahcsm.org) applauds President-elect Donald Trump’s naming of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

This is the best thing to happen to health care in many years,” says Katy Talento, AHCSM’s executive director.

“RFK Jr. is the right man for the job at the right time. He will shake up Big Food, Big Pharma and Big Medicine with tangible policies that put patients and consumers first.

“Breaking free of the Big Medicine system requires a commitment to the ethos of personal responsibility and agency, which RFK Jr. champions and which is enabled by Health Care Sharing Ministries. We want to exit the broken Big Medicine system that tries to control us, violate our consciences, and price-gouge us.”

Mr. Kennedy’s “Make America Healthy Again” campaign will impact a number of major federal agencies. HHS oversees the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Office of the Surgeon General and much more.

In an X post, RFK said:
“President Trump has asked me to do three things:

  1. Clean up the corruption in our government health agencies.
  2. Return those agencies to their rich tradition of gold-standard, evidence-based science.
  3. Make America Healthy Again by ending the chronic disease epidemic.”

His reform platform includes:

  • Increased scrutiny of vaccines’ effectiveness and possible harms.
  • Greater regulation of food additives and ultra-processed foods.
  • More support for alternative medicines and practitioners.
  • Inquiries into fluoride levels in Americans’ drinking water.
  • More research on stem cells, heavy metals, and the benefits of raw milk.

“RFK Jr.’s background includes early struggles with drug abuse, and the pressures of being part of a famous political family,” Talento noted.

“He has a law degree from the University of Virginia, a bachelor’s degree from Harvard, and he also attended the London School of Economics and Political Science. As a longtime activist and former presidential candidate, he is particularly well suited to the political combat that is sure to come.

“Everyone needs to contact their U.S. senators to support RFK Jr.’s nomination, especially since he will face hostile questioning by industry-backed politicians at his confirmation hearings.”
